Please Note: only hard copies of all documents will be accepted starting July 24, 2023.
In fairness to our taxpayers and students, Navarro ISD has a strict residency policy. All returning students will be asked for proof of residency. Students will not be assigned to classes for the 2023-2024 school year without re-establishing residency in the district. In order to prevent duplication of effort, the process will be centralized at the Junior High Office. Residency approval will then be sent to each campus as appropriate. Please take the required documents to Navarro ISD Junior High Office located at 6450 N. State Highway 123.
Please bring all documents in person. We will not be able to print emailed documents.
Residency means that the family lives in the district; the fact that a parent may own property in the district does not constitute residency.
If you own your own home:
If you are renting:
If at any time campus or district personnel suspects that a student no longer resides in the district, the parent, military guardian, court-appointed legal guardian or person acting as a parent must provide proof of residency. A student may also attend if the student has been placed in foster care and the foster parents reside in your district. A student in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) who has been placed by the department at a residence outside your district but who was enrolled at a school in your district at the time of placement is entitled to continue to attend that school until he or she successfully completes the highest grade offered by the school without payment of tuition regardless of whether the student remains in DFPS conservatorship. Also, if a student who is in the conservatorship of the DFPS enrolls in a primary or secondary public school other than the school in which the student was enrolled at the time of placement into conservatorship, the student is entitled to continue to attend that school without the payment of tuition until the student successfully completes the highest grade level offered by that school at the time of enrollment even if the child’s placement is changed to a residence outside the attendance area for that school or the school district. The student is also entitled to continue to attend the school regardless of whether the student remains in the conservatorship of the DFPS for the duration of the student’s enrollment.
